When it comes down to just a couple choices I look for a stock that closed dead on trendline or moving average support with a Doji Star or Hanging Man type candlestick pattern.
Also look for either declining volume as the stock approached support or a volume spike indicating capitulation.
Also the stock should have good volitility and average daily volume. Good fundamentals too.
Hourly chart needs to be oversold and preferably the 5 minute chart also.
Or a very small move above short term trendline resistance on the 5 minute chart is also good, indicating that this one has a very high probability of continuing the move next session ( while oversold on the hourly chart ).

What was interesting about the number of returns from the filter is that it was telling me that the market was ripe for a bounce, which it turns out it was.
Also running a basic 52 Week high and a 52 Week low filter just to keep track of the balance. It's very interesting.

Zuber, man you nailed the move higher today! Good Work and Insight.

Here's a site I check each morning BEFORE the bell. It displays NASDAQ-100 Pre-Market HeatMap.
I also check what Industry the the most active are from......http://screening.nasdaq.com/heatmaps/heatmap_pmi.asp...enjoy!

Take a looka TMAR I got in @ $1.61 today, look at it on a 3year/w and 1year/daily, I believe the stock is breaking out of consolidation and could go much higher. Has both Stochastics/MACD crossovers too.

I knew about TMAR. I emailed that one for my class on 12/3. Thought the volume and the doji could be indicating capitulation.

ZILA, might be a good one to put on the radar. This is a turn around play. Last 3 quarters have been very good and a dramatic improvement. Stock has responded accordingly up about 450% since May.

Watching CYAD for a break of resistance trendline on the 5 min. chart. This one looks promising,IMO.

  Zuber

 Ditto on CYAD

Take a look at CYAD on the 5day/15m Prophet.net chart.

Indicators CCI(10) and QStick(8) are my two buy signals, plus you have a EMA(13) turn up approaching EMA(26) Strong Buy (Rating 9)

Look what happened last time CCI(1) turned up on 12/11 and crossed 0 about $0.28 gain.
